Detroit's own Metal Band

We Came As Romans is a local Detroit based metal band since 2005. This band went from playing in the garage bands to selling out shows across the world. They have performed at many festivals such as Vans Warped Tour, Slam Dunk, Rockville, Louder Than Life and so many more! While Covid-19 had a large impact on everyone's lives, in April of 2021 they performed on The Barricade live stream. At that time, there were still no concerts due to the pandemic, but they were still able to perform for their fans in a different way. Prior to We Came as Romans, they were known as a band called “The Emergency” but a year after the band was formed, they chose a different name. The band members are vocalist Dave Stephens, guitarist Lou Cotton, guitarist Joshua Moore, basses Andy Glass and drummer David Puckett. The band has continued on after they had lost one of their members, Kyle Pavone.

The Kyle Pavone Foundation

Kyle Pavone was the singer of We Came as Romans until August 25, 2018 when he had passed away due to an accidental overdose. Out of Battle Creek Michigan, there is now Kyle Pavone Foundation that is dedicated to helping others that are struggling with addiction. Their website shows that they are focused on education, awareness and compassion. Many people do not know how difficult addiction is which is why Kyle’s family hopes that addiction does not go unnoticed. After Kyle had passed away, a song was released by Kayzo featuring Kyle. LA Never Says Goodbye was the last song that Kyle Pavone has recorded. Over five years later, We Came as Romans are still writing songs about Kyle and honoring his memory on the stages across the world.

The Love of Music

The five band members have released a song honoring Kyle Pavone, One More Day in 2022 on their newest album, Darkbloom. Two years later they are still touring the release of this album. We Came as Romans first EP album was released in 2008 being known as “Dreams” and “Demonstrations” that is only available on limited streaming services. This album was not released to streaming services such as Apple Music, Pandora and Spotify as it had little views. In the following year, 2009 they released their first studio album, To Plant a Seed. It has now been over 14 years that We Came as Romans has been performing and traveling the world.
